Big towers are practical, cheap and easy to cool — but a lot of people want a desktop that doesn't dominate the desk. The Mini ITX scene in 2026 has matured to the point where you can build a PC the size of a small loaf of bread that runs an RTX 4070 Super at full power and stays whisper quiet. It just has to be designed properly.

Inside the build
Thermally tuned with the GPU undervolted by default — quieter, cooler, identical real-world performance.
Performance vs full towers
A Forge Compact with a 4070 Super performs essentially identically to the same GPU in a Forge mid-tower — we just plan the thermals up front. The undervolted GPU profile we ship with shaves 30–40W and 4–6°C off load temps with no measurable performance loss. The PC sits silently next to your monitor instead of taking up the floor.
Built the Forge way
Every SFF build is hand-assembled in the UK, cable-managed inch-by-inch for airflow, and burned in for 24 hours with thermal logging before dispatch. Free insured tracked delivery, 2-year parts & labour warranty, real human support. Configure an SFF PC in 60 seconds, or browse our base builds.
Common questions
An SFF PC is a compact desktop typically under 20 litres in volume — often built around the Mini ITX motherboard standard. Done right, SFF builds fit on a desk like a console while running the same performance hardware as a full-size tower.
Yes — most modern Mini ITX cases support GPUs up to 320mm long, which covers nearly every RTX 4070 Super, 4070 Ti Super, and even many 4080 / 4090 dual-slot models. Cooling has to be planned carefully but full-power performance is absolutely possible.
Slightly — typically £100–£250 more for the same specs because Mini ITX motherboards, low-profile cooling, and SFX power supplies cost more than their full-size equivalents. The trade-off is a desktop that takes up roughly the same footprint as a PS5.
If they're badly designed, yes. A well-planned SFF build with the right airflow case (Fractal Terra, Lian Li A4-H2O, NZXT H1 v2) and an undervolted GPU runs at comparable temps to a full tower. We tune every build for thermal headroom and noise, not just stock benchmarks.
Yes, but with planning. The CPU socket can usually take faster chips, the GPU can be swapped within length limits, and storage can be upgraded. Memory tends to be fixed because Mini ITX only has 2 DIMM slots — we always spec generously up front.
Our default is the Fractal Terra (clean wood/aluminium, premium feel) for showcase builds, the Lian Li A4-H2O if you want maximum AIO cooling in 11L, and the NZXT H1 v2 for a console-shaped vertical layout. We'll recommend based on your GPU choice and aesthetic preference.
